Make a color that is not your Color Season suit you

Like magic, a color goes from “ugly” to beautiful. Here, I’ll share the secret to making it work for you.

bad color suits you

Today, in a new article dedicated to you from my newsletter to help you learn styling, I want to share something important.

I know that color analysis is essential for identifying which colors suit us best.

But what about the colors that don’t flatter us? Those colors that your colorimetry suggests avoiding, and when you look in the mirror, you can really tell they don’t suit you. Yet, you love that color, or you simply want to wear that item because it has a style you adore.

We can’t just let it go! What a beautiful piece!

While you’re updating your wardrobe with more items in your color palette (check out my Color Season Test in the store), that piece stays there because you love it.

Yes, you can wear it!

You might think, “But that color looks terrible on me!”

This is where the laws of color come into play. It’s important to understand how a color can either make your face glow or dull it down.

This means that by incorporating other elements of more flattering colors into your look, you can “modify” the impact of that color that doesn’t suit you, turning it into something that does (or at least a little better!).

Try these ideas:

  1. Incorporate the colors of that piece into your makeup: For example, if you’re cool-toned and the piece is warm, then add warm blush and eyeshadow to make your look warmer. Changing makeup can help you adapt to certain colors (though not ideal, it usually works, especially if you’re not extremely warm or cool in appearance).
  2. Add a jacket, scarf, or large accessories (like visible earrings and necklaces) in your Color Season. When you add accessories from your palette in larger sizes or quantities, that color in the piece that doesn’t suit you will start to work better for you. For this, the new elements need to be from your Color Season.

The secret is to incorporate pieces either from the palette of the garment or from your own colorimetry. You can choose either of these options, but if you are very warm or very cool (far from neutral), always choose option two and add your Color Season with accessories.
